The Kama Sutra on Courtesans

Here's some of what the Kama Sutra says on courtesans.

The different kinds of courtesans are:
  • A bawd
  • A female attendant
  • An unchaste woman
  • A dancing girl
  • A female artisan
  • A woman who has left her family
  • A woman living on her beauty
  • And, finally, a regular courtesan
All the above kinds of courtesans are acquainted with various kinds of men, and should consider the ways of getting money from them, of pleasing them, of separating themselves from them, and of reuniting with them.

When a  courtesan is able to realize much money every day, by reason of many customers, she should not confine herself to a single lover; under such circumstances, she should fix her rate for one night, after considering the place, the season and the condition of the people, also having regard to her own good qualities and good looks, and after comparing her rates with those of other courtesans.

She can inform her lovers and friends and acquaintances about these charges. If, however, she can obtain great gain from a single lover, she may resort to him alone, and live with him like a wife.

Now, the sages are of the opinion that when a courtesan has the chance of equal gain from two lovers at the same time, a preference should be given to the one who would give her the kind of thing she wants. But Vatsyayana says that the preference would be given to the one who gives her gold, because it cannot be taken back like some other things, it can be easily received, and it is also the means of procuring anything that may be wished for. Of such things as gold, silver, copper, bell metal, iron, pots, furniture, beds, upper garments, undervestments, fragrant substances, vessels made of gourds, ghee, oil, corn, cattle and other things of like nature, the first, namely, gold, is superior to all the others.

In considering her present gains, and her future welfare, a courtesan should avoid such persons as have gained their means of subsistence with very great difficulty, as well as those who have become selfish and hardhearted by becoming the favorites of kings. She should make every endeavor to unite herself with prosperous and well-to-do people...she should become acquainted with energetic and liberal-minded men, who when pleased would give her a large sum of money, even for very little service, or for some small thing.

Men want pleasure, while women want money...When a courtesan consorts with men, she should cause each of them to give her money as well as pleasure.

Lingam Worship

Lingam is the Sanskrit word for the male phallus and translates as “Wand of Light”. It is also the representation of the Hindu deity, Shiva, used for worship in temples. In sacred tantra, the lingam is honored as a “Wand of Light” that channels pleasure and a symbol of male creative energy.
Tantra teaches that there are many nerve endings on the lingam that correspond to other parts of the body. It is believed that many ailments can be cured by receiving a good lingam worship experience.

Lingam worship creates a time for you (the receiver) to relax and receive expanded pleasure from your lingam. The Goddess, (and the giver) experiences the joy of facilitating and watching your surrender to a softer, gentler side. The lingam worship can be an excellent way to build trust and intimacy and helps to heal from outdated or negative sexual conditioning and trauma.

While orgasm is never the goal, it's often a pleasant and welcome side effect. The goal is to allow the receiver to surrender to a new form of pleasure that is different than what may have been experienced before.

Traditional male conditioning places you in a doing and goal oriented mode. Men need to learn to RELAX and RECEIVE. This healing experience helps you learn to relax and receive, while experiencing pleasure from a non-traditional perspective.

When you arrive for your healing experience, the first thing to do is leave all negative and chaotic energy outside! Turn off your cell phone and take your time - breathe deeply. Conscious, relaxed breathing immediately takes you out of your mental process. Relax your belly and let go of the tension that many of us hold there.

During this time, the receiver will let go of all thoughts and connect with the Goddess through a variety of sensual, relaxing techniques, bringing both to a place of relaxation and trust.

As contact is made on an energetic and physical level, you will sink deeper into relaxation. The Godess will take her time, giving attention to often neglected areas of the body, including what the Taoists call the 'Million Dollar Point'.

The lingam may get hard, then go soft, get hard again, which is a highly desirable Tantric experience, like riding a wave, bobbing up and down. Hard and soft are two ends of the sensual pleasure spectrum.

Keep in mind that the goal is not orgasm in and of itself. Men can learn the art of ejaculatory mastery and control by coming close and then backing off on the stimulation. Deep breathing is key here and will soften the urge to let go. Ejaculatory mastery will allow you to make love as long as you want and become multi-orgasmic without losing a drop of semen. Orgasm and ejaculation are two different responses that you can learn to separate to achieve an expanded sex life.

Oftentimes, the receiver may have strong emotions come up during this experience. The receiver is encouraged to moan, scream, cry out, or sob, if it feels appropriate. You will be charged up with temendous energy which can be let go and channeled in a variety of ways - either out or inward for other areas of your being.

Tigress Dress

As a White Tigress, clothing is used to create a lot of excitement for the Dragon, as well as to make the Tigress feel and look more attractive and desirable.

In ancient China, Tigresses wore silks, elaborate brocades, facial decorations and makeup. Many had bound 'lotus' feet. In current times, this translates to sensual and body revealing attire accompanied by high heels, as well as attire that makes the body accessible for both touching and unveiling.

While I am a practicing nudist, nakedness is not always considered sexually enhancing or exciting. Most Tigresses only partially undress during an encounter with a Dragon.

The degree and method of exhibitionism can be either very subtle or very overt, depending on the mood, the Dragon and what is to be accomplished. The lower half of the body may remain covered with the breasts exposed.

The main concern is to consider what is safe, comfortable and what stimulates both the Tigress and the Dragon.

Kinds of Unions According to Dimensions

According to the Kama Sutra, man is divided into three classes: the hare man, the bull man and the horse man, according to the size of his lingam.

Woman also, according to the depth of her yoni, is either a female deer, a mare or a female elephant.

There are thus three equal unions between persons of corresponding dimensions, and there are six unequal unions when the dimensions do not correspond, or nine in all:

Equal Unions
Hare = Deer
Bull = Mare
Horse = Elephant

Unequal Unions
Hare < Mare
Hare < Elephant
Bull > Deer
Bull < Elephant
Horse > Deer
Horse > Mare

In these unequal unions, when the male exceeds the female in point of size, his union with a woman who is immediately next to him in size is called high union, and it is of two kinds; while his union with the woman most remote from him in size is called the highest union, and is of one kind only. On the other hand, when the female exceeds the male in point of size, her union with a man immediately next to her in size is called low union, and is of two kinds; while her union with a man most remote from her in size is called the lowest union, and is of one kind only.

In other words, the horse and mare and the bull and deer, form the high union, while the horse and deer form the highest union. On the female side, the elephant and bull and the mare and hare, form low unions, while the elephant and the hare make the lowest unions.

Among these nine kinds of union according to dimensions, equal unions are best, and highest and lowest are the worst. The rest are middling, with high being better than low.

High unions are said to be better than low unions, because in high union, it is possible for the male to satisfy his own passion without injuring the female, while in low union, it may be difficult for the female to be satisfied without some creativity!

There are also nine kinds of union according to the force of passion or canal desire.

A man is called a man of small passion whose desire at the time of sexual union is not great, whose semen is scanty, and who cannot bear the warm embraces of the female. Those who differ from this temperment are called men of middling passion, while those of intense passion are full of desire. Women are supposed to have the three degrees of feeling as well.

Lastly, according to time, there are three kinds of men and women - the short-timed, the moderate-timed and the long-timed, and of these, as in previous statements, there are nine kinds of unions.

The Embrace

The whole subject of embracing is of such nature that men who ask questions about it, or who hear about it, or who talk about it, acquire thereby a desire for enjoyment. Even those embraces that are not mentioned...should be practiced at the time of sexual enjoyment, if they are in any way conducive to the increase of love or passion.

The Kama Sutra tells us four ways of embracing simple members of the body:
The embrace of the thighs
The embrace of the jaghana, that is, the part of the body from the navel downward to the thighs
The embrace of the breasts
The embrace of the forehead
Embrace of the Thighs
When one of two lovers presses forcibly one or both of the thighs of the other between his or her own, it is called the 'embrace of the thighs."

Embrace of the Jaghana
When the man presses the jaghana, or middle part, of the woman's body against his own, and mounts upon her to practice, either scratching with the nail or finger, or biting or striking or kissing, the hair of the woman being loose and flowing, it is called the "embrace of the jaghana."

Embrace of the Breasts
When a man places his breast between the breasts of a woman and presses her with it, it is called the "embrace of the breasts."

Embrace of the Forehead
When either of the lovers touches the mouth, the eyes and the forehead of the other with his or her own, it is called the "embrace of the forehead."

White Tigress

I am a practitioner of the White Tigress teachings.

White Tigress teachings originated from the ancient practices of the Western Royal Mother (Hsi Wan My). These practices have been handed down and refined over many centuries within the Asian consort, concubine and courtesan societies and some Taoist sects that adhere to feminine and sexual ideology.

The name White Tigress is borrowed from a Chinese term indicating a female with a hairless vagina. It denotes a female who has undertaken disciplined spiritual and sexual practices to restore her beauty and youthfullness in order to realize her feminine potential and the condition of an immortaless.

Sex can be similar to a poison, and as with many poisons, it is also its own antidote. As a Tigress, I am not emotionally attached to sex, but think of it as a very powerful and effective way to restore and enhance my physical beauty and to delve into the sublime Tao to attain immortality.

I have been taught how to harness one of the most powerful energies of human experience - sexual energy - and apply it to the pursuit of health, youthfulness, longevity and spiritual immortality. The White Tigress practices and beliefs are but the means, not the end. Sexual energy is my springboard, propelling me to a more youthful and spiritual state of being.

Kama Sutra

Truth is like a diamond that has many facets and no view can claim to see its entirety ~Indian proverb

What is the Kama Sutra? In today's world, 'Kama Sutra' refers to a type of malware or malicious software worm that infects PCs using MS Windows. It is also known as Blackworm, Nyxem, and Blackmal. I'm sure that's the first thing that popped into your head when you saw the title of my post - LOL!

Many believe it is an erotic book filled with talk of various sexual positions. In reality, that is only part of it. The Kama Sutra is an interesting ancient Indian work that gives us an insight into the history, politics, secular life and social customs of ancient India.

In Sanskrit, Kāma means desire, affection, love, lust, sensual pleasure...It is also one of the four goals (purusarthas) in life. Kama may also refer to the Indian god of love, similar in some wats to Cupid or Eros in Western mythology. Sutra refers to a style of writing that uses aphorisms, short rules or precepts.

The Kama Sutra is a classical Indian treatise combining philosophy, sociology, Hindu dogma, psychology, scientific inquiry and sexology. It was written around the 4th century AD by Mallanāga Vātsyāyana. Part art of love and part social conduct, it's the earliest of the surviving Hindu 'love manuals'.
