The Consoler

A dildo is a sexual device resembling a penis in shape, size, and overall appearance, and intended for bodily penetration during masturbation and sex. The Spanish call it a consolador (the consoler).

Dildos in one form or another have been present in society throughout history. The world's oldest known dildo was found in Hohle Fels Cave near Ulm, Germay. It is a siltstone 20-centimeter phallus from the Upper Palaeolithic period 30,000 years ago. Archaeologists have found that ancient Egyptians used dildos 2,500 years ago.

The early dildos were made from a variey of materials - stone, tar, wood and other materials that could be shaped as penises and were firm enough to be used as a penetrative device. Chinese women in the 15th century used dildos made of lacquered wood with textured surfaces.
And if you've been following my blog, you already know that there was even a phallic 'god'.

Dildos were known to the ancient Greeks and Romans and depicted in art and on vases. One vessel, from the 6th century BC, depicts a scene in with a woman bending over to perform oral sex on a man, while another man is about to thrust a dildo into her from behind.
Note the strapon dildo on the side table, as well as the woman wearing a strapon in this lithograph (above) from De Figuris Veneris (1906) by Edouard-Henri Avril.

The modern dildo can be found in all sizes, colors, shapes and materials. If you're interested in a one-to-one healing experience, or having me as a travel companion for a weekend get-away, vacation, cruise, or workshop partner, or as a companion for theater, opera, black tie, corporate or dinner events, please email me for information.
