Ancient Chinese Erotic Art

Erotic motifs and designs were used on porcelain ware (vases, bowls, plates) by the Manchu emperors as sexual embellishment.  It has been established that such erotic designs were painted on Chinese earthenware in the first and third centuries.

Erotic art was also found on the soles of ceramic shoes, inlaid boxes, silk and rice paper paintings, as well as snuff bottles.
